What an incredibly unique day this was! Who would have known we'd be invited to do a beach wedding in the middle of April, in Toronto! We were so honoured that David & Stephanie chose us to capture their day - and when they told us that it was going to be at a beach volleyball court, we had no idea what to expect. But what an incredibly fun, relaxed, perfect day it was! It's so fun to see a couple who truly compliment each other. It was evident throughout the day not only that they make each other better individuals, but they give each other permission to be themselves. What a beautiful sight it was!
We started out in beautiful Liberty Village. The girls getting pampered at B-Suite Salon & Spa on Atlantic Avenue, and then travelling back to their condo to meet the guys and get some photos done beforehand. This was a group willing to do anything. We ventured down to the Exhibition to take some photos under the Princess Gates and we literally stopped traffic. Good thing there were no major events happening! Liberty Village is one of our favourite spots. Oftentimes people request to do photos in the Distillery District without knowing that there is a hefty permit to pay in order to do so. Liberty Village offers a very similar feel, without the cost. The Liberty Market staff were very gracious in letting us use their galleria area for family and bridal party photos and it turned out great!
The ceremony and reception were both held at Beach Blast Indoor Volleyball courts. It certainly made for a hawaiian feel- walking in and getting a Lei and hearing music that made you feel like you were literally on a beach. It worked perfectly for Stephanie & David, and it truly was what they pictured.
One of the most memorably parts of the day came during the first dance when David & Stephanie surprised Steph's Nan by using a song she had sung many years ago. It was a moment that sent chills down your spine. Her voice was incredibly beautiful and romantic, and she was shocked to hear it again, much less in such a special way. A moment to remember forever for many people!
David & Stephanie, we had such a great time with you two! You were so much fun, flexible, and made the whole day enjoyable. Wishing you an incredible start to your marriage!
